Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about managing your secondhand shop with brecho.me.

Getting Started

What is brecho.me?

brecho.me is software built specifically for secondhand fashion resellers. Upload a photo of your purchase receipt and AI extracts every item automatically. From there you manage inventory at the unit level, sell via POS or online, and see your real profit per piece — not just revenue.

Who is brecho.me for?

Solo fashion resellers, thrift shop owners, and anyone who buys clothing to resell — whether you import from China, buy from local suppliers, or source from consignment. If you track purchases in spreadsheets or notebooks today, brecho.me replaces that.

Do I need to connect marketplaces to get started?

No. You can start by tracking purchases, inventory, and profit without connecting any marketplace or payment provider. Integrations can come later when you are ready.

How quickly can I get started?

Create a free account, upload a photo of your first purchase receipt, and our AI extracts the items automatically. Most sellers are up and running in minutes.

Can brecho.me help if I source stock from China or AliExpress?

Yes. brecho.me is built for fashion resellers who import goods from China, AliExpress, Shein, and similar platforms. AI receipt parsing handles Chinese-language supplier invoices automatically — extracting item names, quantities, unit costs, and shipping. Landed cost is calculated per item so you always know your true cost after import.

Can I manage stock from multiple suppliers in one account?

Yes. brecho.me supports multiple suppliers within a single account — each purchase order is linked to its supplier so you can track costs and profit separately by source. Whether you import from AliExpress, buy at thrift fairs, or take consignment from multiple vendors, all inventory flows into the same unit-level tracking system.

What devices and browsers does brecho.me support?

brecho.me works in any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — on desktop, tablet, and mobile. No app download required. Upload receipt photos directly from your phone's camera, manage your secondhand inventory on the go, and track profit from any device.

How do I move my existing inventory from a spreadsheet to brecho.me?

Add each piece through the same AI capture flow you use for new purchases: a photo or screenshot of the original receipt if you kept one, or, if you did not, tap 'Add item' during review and enter the name, quantity, and price you paid by hand. For new purchases going forward, use AI receipt capture the normal way: photograph the supplier invoice and brecho.me builds your inventory automatically. Most sellers move their stock over a weekend and switch fully to receipt capture from day one.

Is there a free demo I can try without creating an account?

Yes. Go to brecho.me/demo — no account, no email, no credit card required. Upload a photo of any supplier receipt and watch AI extract items, quantities, unit costs, and shipping in under 60 seconds. The demo uses a sample order if you prefer not to upload your own. Once you see how it works, creating a free account takes about 30 seconds.

Does brecho.me work for consignment stores and vintage boutiques?

Yes. brecho.me handles any resale model — solo sellers who buy and flip, consignment shops holding items on behalf of several owners, and vintage boutiques managing curated collections. Turn on concierge mode and consignment becomes its own flow: you add each owner once with the share you keep, take their things in as a drop-off, and print them a receipt on the spot. When a piece sells, at the counter or on the marketplace, the owner's share is worked out and recorded to them automatically, at the rate that applied to that piece. Their statement lists every piece, every sale and every deduction as a dated line, rack rent included if you charge it. Paying them stays yours to do — you hand the money over the way you always have and record it, and the statement squares up. Owners who left an email can sign in and see their own pieces and their own money without asking you.

Can I manage items I bought for myself alongside consignment stock in the same account?

Yes. brecho.me lets you mix owned and consignment inventory in the same account. Owned stock gets a cost basis from your purchase receipt; a consigned piece is taken in as a drop-off at zero cost, because you did not buy it. The Inventory page lists each order as its own card, so a drop-off from one owner never blends into an import shipment. Profit reads correctly on both without any arithmetic from you: when a consigned piece sells, the owner's share is booked as its cost at that moment, so what is left is your commission and nothing else. Each owner has their own share percentage, and one piece can override it when you agreed something different for that piece alone.

Can I use brecho.me if I only sell in person — at markets, fairs, or a physical store?

Yes. brecho.me works for any selling channel — physical, online, or both. Process sales at market stalls with a connected POS terminal (MercadoPago, Cielo, or Stone) or generate payment links buyers pay by card or PIX from their phone. Every in-person sale records in your inventory automatically with cost and profit calculated. The marketplace listing feature is optional — you get full inventory and profit tracking without ever listing an item online.

AI & Receipt Parsing

How accurate is the AI receipt parsing?

The AI typically extracts 80–95% of item details correctly, including names, quantities, unit costs, and shipping. It works with photos of printed receipts, screenshots of digital invoices, supplier notes in Chinese or Portuguese, and consignment documents. You always review and adjust before saving.

What receipt formats does it accept?

Any image or PDF works — photos of paper receipts, screenshots of AliExpress or Shein orders, supplier invoices, and consignment notes. The AI handles multiple languages including Chinese, Portuguese, and English.

Can I edit what the AI extracts?

Yes, always. After the AI parses your receipt you review every item before saving. You can change names, quantities, prices, split items, or add items the AI missed. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

How many AI captures do I get?

There's no cap. The paid plan is retired, so AI captures are unlimited for every seller — nothing to buy for more.

Can the AI read Chinese supplier invoices?

Yes. The AI is trained to read Chinese-language purchase receipts, supplier invoices, and order sheets — common when sourcing from Alibaba, AliExpress, Shein, or direct wholesalers. It extracts item names, quantities, unit costs, and shipping in seconds. You review and adjust before saving.

Can I forward order confirmation emails for automatic parsing?

Yes. brecho.me gives you a unique capture email address. Forward any order confirmation — from AliExpress, Shein, Temu, or any supplier — to that address and AI processes it automatically. Items appear in your inventory without opening the app, making it the fastest way to import orders received by email.

What happens if my receipt photo is blurry or hard to read?

The AI is designed for real-world photos — slightly blurry images, receipts with mixed handwriting and print, poor lighting, and non-standard layouts all work. If photo quality is too low, the AI extracts what it can and flags uncertain fields for your review. You can also type values manually before saving. Nothing is locked in until you confirm.

Does AI receipt parsing work with Shein, Temu, and Shopee orders?

Yes. brecho.me's AI is trained on order confirmations from all major fashion and import platforms — AliExpress, Shein, Temu, Shopee, Alibaba, and Brazilian wholesale suppliers. Upload a screenshot of the order page, a photo of the printed receipt, or forward the confirmation email — the AI reads item names, quantities, unit costs, and shipping in all cases. You review and edit the extracted items before saving. Nothing is committed until you approve.

Can brecho.me read Portuguese receipts and invoices from Brazilian wholesale suppliers?

Yes. The AI handles receipts, invoices, and purchase orders in Portuguese from Brazilian wholesale suppliers, manufacturer notes, and consignment documents — including market-fair invoices, handwritten supplier notes, PDFs, and formal nota fiscal documents. Item names, quantities, unit costs, and totals are extracted automatically. You review and correct before saving. Accuracy typically reaches 80–95% even on non-standard formats.

How fast does AI receipt parsing work?

Most receipts parse in under 60 seconds. Upload a photo or screenshot, the AI reads it, and item details appear for your review in less than a minute — even for Chinese-language supplier invoices or long order lists. Email captures process in the background and appear automatically without opening the app. You can test the exact speed yourself at brecho.me/demo with no account required.

Should I forward AliExpress order emails or upload screenshots — which works better?

Both work, and the best choice depends on your workflow. Email forwarding is faster for large or frequent orders: forward the AliExpress confirmation to your unique brecho.me capture address and items appear in your inventory without opening the app. Screenshot upload is better when you want to review immediately — snap the order page and AI extracts items on the spot. For Chinese-character invoices from direct suppliers (not AliExpress), a photo of the printed invoice usually gives the cleanest result. Many sellers use email forwarding for AliExpress orders and photo upload for supplier invoices from wholesale markets.

Does AI parsing work with large invoices — 30, 50, or 100 items on one receipt?

Yes. There is no item limit per receipt. Large wholesale lot invoices — including 50- or 100-piece orders common from Chinese suppliers — are fully supported. Parsing a longer receipt takes slightly more time, but all items are extracted in one pass for you to review. You can split a long invoice across multiple captures if you prefer to review items in batches. After review, all items land in your inventory in a single purchase order linked to the same supplier.

Pricing & Billing

What does the free trial include?

You get the complete workflow end-to-end: AI receipt capture, inventory management, and selling. No credit card is required to start. You can test everything before deciding to upgrade.

Is there a paid plan?

No — the paid plan is retired. Every feature is free for all sellers now.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Monthly plans can be canceled anytime from your account settings — your access continues until the end of the billing period. Yearly plans offer significant savings but are not cancelable mid-term.

What are the platform fees for selling?

When you process payments through our system, there is a small platform fee plus payment processing costs. There are no listing fees, no registration fees, and no withdrawal fees. Full details are on our payment policy page.

Do I need to add a payment method to use brecho.me?

No. The paid plan is retired, so there's nothing to bill and no payment method required.

Are there any hidden fees I should know about?

No. brecho.me charges only the plan price — no per-listing fees, no registration fees, no withdrawal fees. Payment processing fees apply when buyers pay through our system and are shown clearly per transaction. Shipping costs are passed through at cost with no markup. What you see on our pricing page is what you pay.

Is there a limit on how many items I can add to my inventory?

No. The free plan has no item limit — add as much inventory as you need, at no cost.

Is there a discount for paying annually instead of monthly?

Yes. The annual plan offers a significant discount versus month-to-month billing — equivalent to two or more months free. Payment is made once per year and your access is locked in for the full period. Monthly plans give you maximum flexibility with no long-term commitment. You can switch between billing periods anytime before your next renewal. Current prices in your currency are shown on our pricing page.

Is there a free plan with no time limit — not just a trial?

Yes. The free plan on brecho.me is permanent, not a timed trial — the paid plan is retired, so every seller gets the full feature set free, with no credit card required and no expiry date. AI receipt parsing is included.

Does brecho.me charge per item, per sale, or a flat monthly fee?

Neither. The paid plan is retired, so brecho.me doesn't charge per item, per sale, or a subscription fee. Payment processing fees apply only when a buyer pays through the platform, shown per transaction. You keep your full sale price minus that processing fee.

How many marketplace listings does the free plan allow?

Unlimited. The free plan has no cap on inventory size or marketplace listings — list everything you have. Listing on the marketplace is free for every account, with no per-listing fee no matter how long an item stays live.

What's in Settings → Billing now that the paid plan is retired?

Nothing to worry about — the paid plan is retired, so there's no payment that can fail. Settings → Billing shows your current plan and AI capture usage. Your inventory data, purchase history, and profit records stay safe regardless of plan status.

Selling & Payments

How and when do I receive my money from sales?

Payouts are processed twice per month (on the 1st and 15th). New accounts have a brief holding period to ensure payment security, which decreases as your account matures.

What payment methods are supported?

PIX instant payments (Brazil), credit and debit cards, SEPA transfers (Europe), and POS terminal payments via MercadoPago or Cielo integrations. The available methods depend on your region.

Can I use brecho.me without selling through the platform?

Absolutely. Many sellers use brecho.me purely for purchase tracking and profit visibility without processing any payments through us. You can record sales manually and still see your true margins.

What is landed cost and why does it matter?

Landed cost is your true cost per item — purchase price plus shipping, taxes, and platform fees combined. Most resellers only look at the purchase price when setting prices, which can mean selling at a loss without realizing it. brecho.me calculates landed cost automatically so you price with real profit margins.

Does brecho.me support card and SEPA payments for European buyers?

Yes. brecho.me accepts card and SEPA (European bank transfer) payments, making it easy to sell secondhand fashion to buyers across Europe. All transactions are processed through Stripe with escrow protection — funds are held until the buyer confirms receipt.

How are platform fees and commissions tracked in my profit calculations?

Every sale through brecho.me automatically subtracts platform fees, payment processing costs, and marketplace commissions from your revenue. The profit shown per item is your real net margin — not just revenue minus purchase cost. You always see what you actually keep after every fee, so there are no hidden losses in your margin.

Can I sell to buyers in other countries?

Yes. The brecho.me marketplace accepts card and SEPA payments from buyers across Europe and beyond. All prices are in EUR, and international card payments are supported. For resellers sourcing stock in other currencies, brecho.me converts landed cost to EUR so your profit margin per item is always accurate regardless of the purchase currency.

Can I sell secondhand items via Instagram, WhatsApp, or social media?

Yes. The payment links feature is built for social selling. Select items from your inventory, generate a payment link, and share it to Instagram DMs, WhatsApp, TikTok, or any channel. Your buyer opens the link on their phone, pays by card or PIX, and brecho.me marks the items as sold automatically. No POS terminal required — just a link. Many brechó sellers run their entire business through social channels and use brecho.me for payments and inventory in the background.

Can I accept PIX payments from Brazilian buyers for my secondhand items?

Yes. PIX is fully supported for Brazilian sellers. Generate a payment link from any item in your inventory and buyers pay instantly via PIX — funds settle in seconds, not days. PIX sales are marked as sold automatically and profit is recorded against each item's landed cost. The PIX platform fee is shown transparently per transaction. Card and SEPA payments are also available for buyers outside Brazil.

Does brecho.me integrate with MercadoPago or Cielo card terminals?

Yes. brecho.me connects directly to MercadoPago Point terminals (Mini, Pro, Smart) and supports Cielo card readers. Connect your existing terminal in Settings — no new hardware needed. Each card sale records automatically against your selected inventory items and updates profit in real time. PIX payments are also supported natively for Brazilian buyers, alongside card and SEPA for European customers.

How do I ship a cash sale?

On the Sell page, tick "Ship this order to the buyer" and pick the buyer's parcel locker — then take just the item total in cash. Shipping is settled separately: the buyer pays it via a link and QR code shown on the receipt, or you cover it from your pending balance. Once shipping is paid, the receipt shows the drop-off code you scan at your locker and the pickup code your buyer uses at theirs. Available for European sellers with a drop-off locker and phone set in Settings.

Why is my payout frozen, and how do I verify my identity?

European accounts save their identity details once, before the first payout — our bank requires us to know who receives payouts. Go to Settings → Identity verification, enter your legal name, personal ID code, home address, and date of birth, confirm the declaration, and tap Save details. That is all you need to do — there is no waiting room and nothing to watch for: we check your details when you request your payout. You can edit them any time. Your balance is safe and waiting the whole time — nothing is lost.

Why am I being asked to accept the seller terms again?

The seller terms were updated — most recently to clarify how buyer returns work for private versus business sellers. Whenever the terms change, the acceptance screen appears once at your next visit to the Sell page. Read and accept, and you're back to selling — your account, inventory, and balance are untouched. It's a one-time step after each terms update, not a bug or a sign-in problem.

Do my buyers get a 14-day return window on what I sell?

It depends on your declared seller type. Sales by a registered business or sole trader carry the EU 14-day change-of-mind window, counted from delivery. Sales by a declared private individual don't — buyers can still return items that are faulty or not as described, at any seller type. Declare your type under Settings → Seller type; until you declare, your sales are treated as business-grade to protect buyers. Each sale keeps the rules that applied when it was bought, so changing your declaration never affects past orders.

How do marketplace auctions work for sellers?

List an item as an auction with an end time, an optional hidden reserve price, and an optional Buy now price. Bids are binding, and the reserve cannot be changed once the auction is created. You can cancel a scheduled auction any time before it starts, and a live auction only while it has no bids. When the auction ends above the reserve, the winner pays and the sale runs like any other marketplace order: payment is held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt, with automatic release 7 days after delivery. Selling at auction is free — there are no auction-specific seller fees.

How does bidding work on marketplace auctions?

A bid is the maximum you are willing to pay, and it is a binding offer — bids cannot be retracted. Your maximum stays hidden: the system raises your standing bid only by the minimum needed to keep you in the lead. If you win, you pay the final auction price, never your hidden maximum, plus the Buyer Protection fee shown at checkout and shipping. A bid placed inside the auction's stated final window extends the auction by that window, so everyone has time to respond to a late bid. Buy now, where offered, is a binding purchase at exactly the stated price and ends the auction immediately.

What happens if the auction winner does not pay?

The winner has the deadline shown on the auction to pay — 48 hours from the end of the auction unless the auction states otherwise. If payment does not arrive in time, the win lapses and the item returns to sale. The seller loses nothing: no sale is recorded, and the item is available to sell again. There are no extra charges for a lapsed win.

Data & Security

Is my data safe?

Yes. All connections are encrypted, authentication is passwordless (magic links plus two-factor verification), and every account is completely isolated from all others. We follow LGPD and GDPR data protection standards.

Can I export my data?

Not as a downloadable file today. Everything brecho.me holds about your business — inventory, purchase history, profit figures — is visible and filterable in the app at any time. For a full copy of your account data, contact us at [email protected] — your data belongs to you and we never lock you in.

Who can see my business data?

Only you. Each account is completely isolated. We never share, sell, or display your business data to other users, advertisers, or third parties. Payment data is shared only with your payment provider (like Stripe) to process transactions.

What is LGPD and how does it protect me?

LGPD is Brazil's data protection law, similar to GDPR in Europe. It means we must protect your personal data, tell you exactly what we collect and why, and let you access, correct, or delete your data anytime. We comply fully with both LGPD and GDPR.

Can I delete my account and all my data?

Yes. Under LGPD and GDPR you have the right to request complete account deletion. Email [email protected] to request it — there's no delete button in Settings yet. All your inventory records, purchase history, and business data are permanently removed within 30 days. We never retain data beyond legal requirements.

How does brecho.me protect against unauthorized account access?

Three layers of protection: passwordless authentication means there is no password to steal or guess; each login requires a magic link plus a verification code sent to your email; and sessions expire automatically after inactivity. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Accounts are completely isolated — no one can access another account's data, even by mistake.

Is brecho.me GDPR-compliant for sellers based in Europe?

Yes. brecho.me is fully GDPR-compliant for users in Europe and LGPD-compliant for users in Brazil. You have the right to access all data we hold about you, request corrections, restrict processing, and request complete deletion — at any time, for free. We process only the data required to provide the service and never sell personal data. Payment data is shared only with Stripe to process transactions, governed by Stripe's own compliance certifications. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How does brecho.me back up my data and protect against data loss?

Your data is stored in a managed cloud database with daily automated backups and point-in-time recovery. Rolling backups are kept for 30 days, so accidental deletions or data corruption can be restored from a recent snapshot. The infrastructure runs on redundant servers across multiple availability zones — no single server failure can take your data offline. If you want a copy of your data outside the app, contact us at [email protected].

What happens to my inventory data if I stop using brecho.me?

Your data stays fully accessible through the end of your billing period after cancellation. Under LGPD and GDPR you have the right to request complete deletion, which permanently removes all your business data within 30 days. If you want a copy of your data before or after canceling, contact us at [email protected] — we never hold your data hostage or charge a fee for it. Your inventory history is yours regardless of subscription status.

Are my supplier costs and profit margins confidential from other sellers?

Yes, completely. Your purchase costs, supplier prices, landed cost calculations, and profit margins are private to your account. Other sellers, marketplace buyers, and platform administrators cannot see your business data. Public marketplace listings show only the price, description, and photos you choose to share. Your sourcing information and profit figures never leave your account.

Does brecho.me use my photos or inventory data to train AI models?

No. brecho.me does not use your receipt photos, inventory records, or business data to train AI models. Your data is used only to provide the service to your account. Receipt parsing runs on a third-party AI model governed by its own usage policy, which explicitly prohibits training on submitted content. Your supplier costs, stock quantities, and profit figures are never shared with other users or used to improve any model. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does brecho.me store my credit card number or payment details?

No. brecho.me never stores credit card numbers, SEPA account details, or raw payment credentials. All card and banking data is handled directly by Stripe under their PCI-DSS Level 1 certification. brecho.me receives only a tokenized reference from Stripe — a code that authorizes future charges without exposing card details. Your payment credentials are protected by Stripe's security infrastructure, not stored on brecho.me servers.

Account

How do I sign in? There is no password.

We use passwordless authentication for better security. Enter your email, receive a magic link, click it, and enter a verification code sent to your email. No password to remember, reset, or get stolen.

What if I lose access to my email?

Your email is your identity on brecho.me. If you lose access to your email provider, you will need to recover that first. We recommend keeping your email account secure with its own two-factor authentication.

Can I change my email address?

Yes. Go to Settings and update your email. You will receive a confirmation to verify the new address before the change takes effect.

How is brecho.me different from a spreadsheet?

Spreadsheets require you to type every item manually, build formulas for profit calculation, and hope nothing breaks. brecho.me gives you AI receipt parsing (photo to inventory in seconds), automatic landed cost calculation, unit-level tracking through the buy-list-sell cycle, and real-time profit dashboards. No formulas to maintain.

Does brecho.me work on mobile?

Yes. brecho.me is fully responsive and works in any modern mobile browser — no app download needed. Upload receipt photos directly from your phone's camera, manage inventory on the go, and process payments via POS terminal or payment links from anywhere.

Can multiple people access the same brecho.me account?

Currently each brecho.me account is for a single user. If you work with staff, you can share your login — all actions are tracked within the same account. Multi-user access with separate logins and permission levels is on our roadmap for shops that need team management.

Can I use brecho.me if I sell at markets, fairs, or pop-up events?

Yes. brecho.me works for any selling channel. Use payment links to accept card payments at fairs without a POS terminal, or connect a MercadoPago or Cielo terminal for tap-and-pay. After the event, every sale is already in your inventory with cost and profit tracked. Many sellers manage their brechó at weekend markets and update online listings the same night.

I'm just starting my secondhand shop — do I need to have everything set up first?

No. You can track inventory and profit from your very first purchase without connecting any payment provider, marketplace, or shipping carrier. Start with three steps: create a free account, upload a photo of your first supplier receipt, and confirm the items AI extracts. Everything else — payments, marketplace listings, shipping — layers in when you need it. Most integrations take under five minutes to configure when you're ready.

Is brecho.me available in English as well as Portuguese?

Yes. brecho.me is fully available in both English and Brazilian Portuguese. Switch language anytime from the settings menu — your inventory, purchase history, and profit data stay untouched. The interface, email notifications, and all system messages adapt instantly to your chosen language. Sellers in Portugal, across Europe, or outside Brazil typically use the English interface.

How do I get help or contact brecho.me support?

Support is available in English and Portuguese. Use the Help link inside your account dashboard, or the contact form at brecho.me/sellers. Most questions are answered within one business day. This FAQ covers the most common topics — and the live demo at brecho.me/demo lets you test specific workflows yourself without creating an account. For billing questions, go to Settings → Billing inside your account.

Can I change my shop name or seller handle on the brecho.me marketplace?

Not by yourself, right now. Your public shop name comes automatically from the first name you entered at signup — there is no separate field in Settings to change it. If you need to change it, for example after a typo or a brand change, email [email protected] and we will help by hand.

How do I update the business name or contact details shown on buyer receipts?

Go to Settings → Account to update your business name, address, tax ID, and contact information. These details appear on payment receipts sent to buyers after each sale. Changes take effect on the next receipt issued — past receipts are not modified. Sellers in Europe can add their VAT number here and it will appear on Stripe-generated invoices. Sellers in Brazil can add their CNPJ or CPF for formal receipt generation.
